Water Damage Categories
Category 1 clean water from supply lines and faucets. Category 2 gray water from washing machines and dishwashers. Category 3 black water from sewage backup and flooding. Water categories can degrade over time if untreated.
Water Damage Classes
Class 1 minimal damage to part of a room. Class 2 significant damage with water wicking up walls. Class 3 extensive damage with saturated ceilings and walls. Class 4 specialty drying for hardwood, plaster, and concrete.
Common Water Damage Sources
Plumbing leaks, appliance failure, roof leaks, flooding, sewage backup, HVAC condensation, foundation seepage, and storm-driven rain.
